Mar Gregorios Karunya Nilayam is located very near to the Government Medical College Hospital, Kottayam, an institution providing various services (free-food, medicine, accommodation etc.) to the poor, the sick and the needy.
A home founded on care, compassion and comfort for the poor, the sick and the homeless is Karunya Nilayam. A charitable organisation sponsored by the Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church, it was the support and goodwill of several individuals and organisations that helped the centre, officially founded in 1993, work its way up from humble beginnings to the sixstoreyed building that it today occupies. A journey that helped touch several lives and bring back many smiles.
