Palliative care consortium Kottayam conducted a meeting at Karunyanilayam, on July 21, 2012. Dr. M.S. Alexander FRCPsych, MRCPsych, DPM, MBBS delivered the keynote address. Representatives of 22 palliative care units participated.
Dr Alexander (Maliyekal) is an adult psychiatrist and has worked in Leeds United Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust (St James's University Hospital) from 1979 to 2007. He now works full time as a private practitioner. Dr Alexander held the post of Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer in Psychiatry at the University of Leeds from 1979 to 2007. He is a well wisher of Mar Gregorios Karunyanilayam.
